Culturalista is a collaborative project that publishes the diverse voices of Australia in a printed and online zine that reaches thousands of people throughout Australia.
In the current issue of Culturalista many contributors emphasise the need for a change in Australian attitudes and perceptions to create a more humanitarian society. Politics is seen as a key realm through which this society could be realised, but equally important, if not more so, is the potential for individuals and communities to create change...

Oh No by Angok Lueth
Wow,
Oh, my beautiful country Sudan,
Wow,
The biggest country in Africa,
Oh.
The royal land of all minerals:
Oil, zinc, petrol and gold,
Wow.
Trees, green grass, lakes and
rivers,
Beautiful plants, and
the biggest, strongest and most
beautiful animals in the world,
Wow,
Elephants, hyenas, lions, giraffes
and buffalo,
Oh.
We have been in the jungle for 21
years,
Our blood flowed like water in
the rivers and lakes,
Our bones lay like firewood on
the beach.
Many young born are losing
their lives, to disease and
chemical weapons, oh God.
We ran away from our country,
we are everywhere, all over
the world.
Oh.
Our rights have been kicked
away from us like a ball,
Oh no.
Our rights to safety, religion and
the things we own.
Oh.
